3 Ways to Help Customers Decide to Buy: #2 - Make It Manageable

copywriting marketing

Welcome to CreativeDemand Copywriting Tips, I’m Anna, a professional copywriter. Today we’re talking about three ways to help customers decide to buy, and this video is about number two: Make the transformation manageable. What does that look like?

Making It Manageable: A Real World Example

Here’s a real world example. Toybox Labs sells a small 3-D printer that’s fairly affordable and easy to use. Its best function is making toys, though of course it can make other things through 3-D printing.

Let’s say I’m a parent and I want to save money on toys and also provide a creative outlet for my child to make his or her own toys. I want to buy this 3-D printer, but I have no idea what I need.

Toybox Labs sells a bundle that contains printer food, a toy catalog, and whatever else I need so that I can achieve the result I’m looking for. My child can get started right away, find inspiration on what toys to make, have the resources to make those toys, and I can start saving money. The bundle makes it very manageable for me.

Techniques for Making the Transformation Manageable

So as a copywriter, you want to think about ways you can make the transformation manageable: for instance, grouping things together in a starter kit or bundle, labeling the steps you need to take to achieve a certain goal, or creating stages of progress.

The closer a customer can get to their transformation being realized, the easier it is for them to make the decision to buy the product. You can organize the offer information in a way that achieves this purpose. "This starter kit is everything you need." "All you have to do is x, y, and z."

Whether you break it down or bundle it up, making the transformation manageable for the customer lowers the barriers to the sale. That’s number two out of the three ways to help customers decide to buy. The first one was to Make It Measurable, so I encourage you to watch that video if you haven’t yet. We have one still to go, so I hope you’ll join me for that!
